Friday's last hour, the Sunday 6:00 pm ET open, through 10:30 am ET Monday · every weekend pinned to its Sunday open price · older weekends fade
/ES is the CME E-mini S&P 500 front month as tastytrade streams it (continuous contract), drawn at each bar's close and pinned to 0% at the first trade of the Sunday 6:00 pm ET open. Left of the shaded halt is Friday 4:00–5:00 pm ET, the last hour before /ES stops for the weekend; the step across the halt is the weekend gap. Gap in the legend is Friday's 5:00 pm close to the Sunday open, Mon is the Sunday open to Monday 10:30 am ET (10:00 on the hourly view, whose last whole bar ends then). Hourly bars run back to January 2026 and 5-minute bars to September 2026, the depth tastytrade serves. Orange weekends end on a market holiday (no 9:30 cash open). Good Friday, Juneteenth and July 3 have no Friday hour. The dashed ±1σ / ±2σ bands are the move Friday's VIX close implies from the Sunday open, counting Sunday 6:00 pm to Monday 4:00 pm as one trading day; /ES has no option chain here to read 16-delta strikes from, so the bands stand in for them (a 16-delta strike sits near 1σ). They use the median VIX of the weekends shown; hover a weekend to draw its own. The wheel zooms the time axis (the % axis over its labels); double-click resets.
SPX is the put-call-parity price from SPXW 0DTE quotes, % from the 9:31 open. Each Monday's levels come from that Monday's own expiring chain at 9:35 ET: the strikes nearest 16, 20 and 25 delta on each side (delta backed out of each option's mid price), and ±1σ / ±2σ from the at-the-money straddle (1σ = straddle ÷ 0.798, the move the market priced for the day). The chart draws the median of each level across the Mondays shown; hover a Monday to draw its own. The table counts how often a Monday closed beyond its own level, next to the rate the level implies (a 16-delta strike finishes in the money about 16% of the time). Quotes come from databento (Jun 2022 – Oct 2026) and ThetaData (kept current).
